No. Sync licensing is not included in these licenses. If you’d like to use a beat in a film, commercial, video game, or similar media, please contact Sir Freak directly to negotiate a sync license.
You can only use the song you made using this beat in a music video.
Non-exclusive licenses (Starter, Indie, Pro): The beat may be licensed to other artists too.
Exclusive / Partnership: The beat is no longer available to others once purchased. If it has been sold non-exclusively before, those previous licenses still remain valid. Please contact Sir Freak if you would like to know if a beat has previously been licensed.
Yes. Wherever the song is distributed or promoted (streaming platforms, YouTube, social media, etc.), you must credit the producer as:
“Beat produced by Sir Freak”
This helps maintain transparency and gives proper recognition for the work.
When you release a track using one of Sir Freak’s beats, you’re required to credit him for 50% of the songwriting (publishing). This 50% represents the instrumental part of your song (also called the beat).
There are two steps to do this properly:
1. Add Sir Freak as a songwriter when uploading via your distributor
(e.g., DistroKid, TuneCore, CDBaby, UnitedMasters, etc.)
Some platforms let you enter songwriter credits during upload. If so, enter:
📬 Unsure? Sir Freak will also give you his legal name and IPI number when you reach out.
2. Register the track with your PRO (Performing Rights Organization)
(e.g., SABAM, ASCAP, BMI, PRS, etc.)
When registering your song with your PRO, you need to:
The partnership license is an exclusive licensing option designed for artists who are serious about pushing their release, and who want a more collaborative relationship with the producer.
Here’s how it works:
You pay a reduced upfront fee (an advance against future royalties), instead of the full exclusive price.
In return, Sir Freak retains a 50% share of the master royalties. This means both artist and producer share equally in the income the song generates (from streaming, downloads, monetized views, etc.). Your upfront fee (advance) covers the producer’s share of master royalties up to that amount; any royalties beyond that have to be paid 50/50 to the producer.
Publishing remains split 50/50, as with all tiers.
This license gives you:
It’s a true partnership: You get a lower upfront cost, and Sir Freak joins you in the success of the track by sharing backend royalties.
🔁 Upgrades from previous licenses count toward your advance
If you’ve already purchased a lower-tier license, that payment is credited toward the advance. You’re never paying twice for the same beat.
In some license tiers, Sir Freak also owns a share of the master recording, not just the publishing.
Here’s how it breaks down:
💸 This is industry standard, and it means Sir Freak gets a share of the money earned from streaming, sales, etc.
Usually, you can easily set this up with your distributor (e.g., using revenue splits on DistroKid or Stem). If your distributor does not allow this, or you sell physical copies, you will need to send Sir Freak his percentage manually. You can do this quarterly. Just make sure to keep track of your numbers and stay transparent.
Please contact Sir Freak, so we can set up a custom license for your requirements.
Congratulations! Don’t worry, please contact Sir Freak, and we’ll see if we can upgrade your license, or negotiate a custom deal.
